Dr. Coleman can perform LASIK on the following prescriptions:
Your prescription, however, is only one factor that determines whether or not you are a candidate for LASIK. The shape of your cornea, as determined by a specialized instrument called a topographer, is perhaps the single most important factor. Coleman Vision uses seven different systems to evaluate this aspect of your eye. In addition, the thickness of your cornea is a significant measurement. Just as no two snowflakes are exactly alike, no two eyes are exactly alike. Similarly, no two doctors are exactly the same in the way in which they determine if you are a candidate for LASIK.
The screening process at Coleman Vision is rigorous. The goal is to identify excellent candidates and encourage them to proceed with LASIK. Dr. Coleman individualizes each laser procedure to match each patient. All patients receive unique laser profiles customized to treat their eye. No treatments are exactly alike.
Contact lenses can play an important role prior to LASIK. To a varying degree, they affect the shape of your cornea as well as the nature of your tear film. How long you should remain out of your contact lenses prior to LASIK is influenced by the pictures of your eye taken at the time of your initial consultation. There is a tremendous amount of interpretation involved in this decision process and many factors are carefully considered.
